Candied Bat Bacon Recipe
This month we’re celebrating with a fun and flavorful treat—Candied Bat Bacon! This easy and tasty treat features our amazing Maple Bacon from family-owned and operated, Grand Champion Meats. If you or someone you know loves the luscious taste of maple syrup, everyone will love this classic hickory smoked bacon coated with 100% real maple syrup (not that maple-flavored corn syrup stuff), which will add a sweet taste and smell to any meal. That’s why our Maple Bacon is the perfect choice for making this fun and flavorful Halloween treat you can make for breakfast or just as a snack.
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 17 minutes
Ingredients:
1 pound of Maple Bacon
1/4 Cup of Maple Syrup (we recommend the real stuff)
1/4 Cup of Brown Sugar
Candy Eyeballs (optional, because who doesn't want a little spooky fun?)
Cook about 1 pound of Maple Bacon (we recommend our baking method. Don’t make it too crispy so you can cut shapes from the bacon using kitchen scissors).
! = Hide bacon after cooking from kids or other family members where you aren't left with only enough to make 2 pieces of Candied Bat Bacon, lol
Mix Brown Sugar with Maple Syrup in a bowl until the sugar is dissolved and mixed well.
Allow the Maple Bacon to cool where it’s not too hot to the touch.
Cut the bacon into bat wings and heads.
Dip bat shapes into sugar syrup mix and assemble.
Bake on cookie sheet with parchment for 8-10 minutes at 325°F until the mix melts.
Cool for about 5 minutes and place eyeballs on bat.
Enjoy Halloween bacon goodness!
